'Bishop's Velvet' grows to a height of 2.75 m. The foliage is dark green above, grey-green beneath. Unlike other deep purple varieties, the throats of the flowers are the same colour. Otherwise, the paniculate inflorescences are typical of ''davidii''. 〔
